Try this: The Delegation Self-Audit
Pick one project you've delegated recently. Write down these two lists side by side:
1. Checking In (Support)
Asking, "What clarity or support do you need?"—not "Is this done yet?"
Reviewing progress together as a conversation, aligned to the brief.
Remaining accessible so small questions don't turn into big blockers.
2. Checking Up (Control)
Asking for updates to soothe your own anxiety, not because a deadline hit.
Reviewing their work looking for what you would have done differently.
Stepping in to "help" in ways that quietly take the work back into your hands.
The Challenge: Read both lists back and be brutally honest—which one did you actually do last time? Before your next touchpoint, consciously pick your list.
